Children and Families Wins Kent Charity of the Year 2018
On Thursday 15th March 2018 Priestfield Stadium in Gillingham hosted the Kent Charity Awards 2018, which saw Children and Families announced as the overall winner.
The award helps to showcase the excellent work of Children and Families over the last year in the charitable sector, through its services such as Seashells Children’s Centre, Seashells Nursery, Rising Stars Nursery, CrècheCare, the Family Food Bank, FareShare Kent, as well as other family support focussed projects.
This award would not have been possible without our dedicated teams of staff, volunteers, trustees and all the partner organisations that support our work with communities.

Jim Duncan CEO of Children and Families Said “At Children & Families we’re absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as the Kent Charity of the Year. With so many other truly outstanding charities represented on the night it was an honour to receive this award on behalf of the staff and volunteers who do our important work. Kent has a fantastically diverse and capable voluntary sector and we are enormously grateful to the Kent Charity Awards and all the sponsors for championing this vital work in the county”.
On the same night Children and Families was also up for another award at the Volunteer Swale Awards at The Barnyard in Upchurch. This saw the Fun Time Friday Team from Seashells Children’s Centre win Voluntary Project of the Year.
Another fantastic achievement providing recognition of all the great work our volunteers do that we’re so very proud of at Children and Families.
To win a double award at two different events on the same evening was incredible and an achievement that will go down in Children and Families history!
