What is the Household Support Fund?
Children and Families is supporting the delivery of the HSF on behalf of Swale Borough Council.
Funded by UK Government, the scheme is for those most in need of support to help with the significantly rising living cots.
The HSF can support with Food, Gas, Electric & Water.
The HSF will run until the end of March 2023 or until the funding allocated is fully used.

Who Can Access The Household Support Fund
The HSF aims to support vulnerable households.
Your clients/service users may be eligible for help with their food and utility costs through the HSF if they meet the below criteria.

Your clients/service users may be eligible for help with their food and utility costs through the HSF if they meet the below criteria.
- Be a Swale Resident
- Be aged 16 or over
- Be at risk because you can't access funds to help you
- Have less than £500 in your bank account and be in arrears with your utility provider.

Billed Account Customers
We can provide your client/service user with a one-off virtual prepaid card, which is to be used to pay your utility provider only.
Your clients/service users will need an email address to access this service and must have less than £500 in their bank and be in arrears with their utility provider.
You can complete the referral form once between 1st November 2022 - 31st December 2022, and then again from the 1st January 2023 - 31st March 2023, as long as your client/service user has spent their card on their utility bills.
By submitting the form below you confirm you have carried out all the necessary due-diligence checks, and you have obtained the correct information and permissions form you client/service user to the best of your knowledge. Any fraudulent claims or misuse of the system may result in Children & Families not being able to support your referral.
Please also note that the virtual card can take up to 5 business days to come through to the clients/service users email address. Your clients/service users will be required to follow the instructions in the email they receive to validate, authenticate and activate your virtual prepaid card before they can use it to pay their utility provider. This prepaid card can only be used to make payment online or over the phone. Please click here to read details on the 'Card Terms'.
